Cnect Wales has launched a Pre-Employment Skills Programme designed to upskill individuals for customer service advisor roles with their members.

The week-long intensive training courses which will run monthly until February 2025 are in partnership with Cardiff City Council and are funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund and powered by the Levelling up Fund, meaning no cost to eligible candidates.

With over 350 members, Cnect Wales represents the interests of a wide variety of employers across the industry including Contact Centres, Shared Service Centres, and businesses with centralised functions in Wales. The services and support that Cnect Wales offers its members ranges from training and education to research and consultancy.

Committed to fostering talent and creating meaningful opportunities within the customer service sector, Cnect Wales are launching the “Cnect Talent” service.

This newly developed training programme, provided through Cnect Talent, will help to bridge the gap between skilled individuals and vacant positions in the industry.

Sandra Busby, Managing Director of Cnect Wales said:

“We understand the challenges that both job seekers and employers face in the current economic climate. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our latest project service, Cnect Talent, aimed at addressing this issue.

The comprehensive one-week training programme is designed to equip unemployed individuals with essential customer service skills.

Covering everything from effective communication techniques to dealing with difficult customers, our training ensures that participants are prepared to excel in a customer-centric environment.”

Upon completion of the programme, candidates will be guaranteed an interview for a live job vacancy with employers.

Sandra added:

“By working with community hubs, job centres and other organisations, we’re building a pool of motivated individuals who upon completion of the programme are ready to make a positive impact in the workplace from day one. Our members are getting access to work-ready talent and helping to reduce unemployment rates – it’s a win, win.”
