Often, employees conduct meetings using their PCs and whatever audiovisual equipment is available, leading to varying experiences that can frustrate end users and pose challenges for IT management. Recognizing these issues, Microsoft is introducing innovative solutions tailored for BYOD meeting rooms.
BYOD Intelligent Features and Jabra in Microsoft Teams Meeting Rooms
Intelligent speakers, previously only available in Teams Rooms, will now also be supported in BYOD meeting rooms.
Devices like the Jabra PanaCast 50, ensure in-room participants maintain their identity in the meeting transcript, enhancing AI-based productivity tools such as intelligent meeting recap and Copilot in Teams. This will be available from Microsoft in the second half of 2024.
BYOD Rooms and Jabra Devices in the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal Microsoft Teams BYOD rooms in the Pro Management Portal provides IT admins with a comprehensive overview of their BYOD rooms utilization and activities.
With this new addition, IT admins will gain valuable insights into how these spaces are being utilized, enabling them to make data driven decisions.
Utilization analytics will provide a better idea of when it’s time to upgrade a BYOD room to a Teams Room with devices like Jabra’s Solutions Certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms.
Microsoft device Ecosystem (MDEP) & Jabra PanaCast 50 Video Bar System
Last year, Microsoft announced the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) with Jabra as the first to market leveraging the new platform.
MDEP is Microsoft’s Android-based platform designed to enable device manufacturers and software developers to deliver innovative solutions, backed by Microsoft’s reputation for security, trust, and management. Microsoft collaborated with Jabra to optimize the platform to leverage Microsoft Teams Rooms for Android as the first industry market solution.
With the release of MDEP to manufacturers today, Jabra PanaCast 50 Video Bar System will be the first MDEP-based device available for select customers by the end of H2 2024.
