Verint has recently completed its acquisition of Cogito, a Boston-based provider known for its real-time coaching and interaction scoring technology.
The deal, which closed on 11 October 2024, became public through Verint’s Formn 10-Q filing rather than an official press announcement.
Joshua Feast, Founder and CEO of Cognito, shared on LinkedIn, “I’m pleased to share the exciting news that Cogito Corp has been acquired by Verint. I would like to thank our customers, Cogicians, investors, directors, advisors and mentors for the wonderful support through the journey”
Verint paid $38.2 million for Cognito, with potential contingent payments of up to $23.2 million if performance targets are met by October 2026.
Cogito’s AI technology is renowned for its ability to analyse over 200 acoustic and linguistic signals in real time, delivering insights that help agents improve customer interactions.
This acquisition aligns with Verint’s broader strategy of enhancing customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX) through AI-driven automation.
Already, Cogito’s capabilities have been integrated into Verint’s newly launched CX/EX Scoring Bot. This bot monitors customer–agent interactions in real time, providing immediate feedback and performance scores.
The purchase of Cogito marks Verint’s fourth acquisition in 2024, following previous buyouts in April, May, and October.
This latest buyout underscores Verint’s strategic vision of using AI-driven automation to optimize customer engagement and operational efficiency in the contact centre space.
