What Is SIP?

SIP, or Session Initiated Protocol, is a signalling system that enables a whole range of applications to be integrated. This includes voice, data, video, pictures and online games.

It allows the user to be able to switch between one mode and another. A good example would be online gaming through a mobile phone, where you would be able to use a “push to talk” button while playing.
